Sujana Excellence Awards -2012, Distribution ceremony

Sujana Group celebrated the concluding ceremony of its Silver Jubilee. Sujana Foundation had formulated many a programme throughout the year including Sujana Excellence Awards to commemorate Sujana Group's 25th anniversary. The third day concluding festival was organized to felicitate the Sujana Excellence Awardees and give away the awards on 16th September by 6.00 p.m., at Sri Satya Sai Nigamagamam, Hyderabad.

These awards were formulated by Sujana Foundation to honour the people who've made an impact in the fields of Agriculture, Education /Literacy, Entrepreneurship, Poverty Alleviation & Rural Development and Innovation in Engineering across the country. Padmavibhushan Dr. MS. Swaminathan, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu were the honourable chief guests. Padmasri Dr.Shantha Sinha was the special invitee for the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri YS Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group of Companies and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha said that Sujana Group withstood all the hardships of economy and moved ahead to complete its 25th anniversary. He said that being associated with people with positive attitude makes all the difference. He assured that in the coming 25 years the Group will provide One Lakh opportunities. As a Member of Parliament he would spend more time in devising many social developmental programs, he opined.

"Identifying and honouring the unsung heroes of our country is a laudable effort made by Sujana Foundation. The way they made a difference to their respective fields with limited resources is an eye opener to the aspiring enthusiasts" said Dr. MS. Swaminathan speaking on the occasion. He urged the Government to devise various developmental programs to contain grieves of farmers. As India is the largest base of human resources, he urged all the youngsters to take up farming as their career and bring an innovative difference to the economy.

Speaking on the occasion former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu congratulated Shri YS Chowdary on this achievement. He also congratulated all the employees of Sujana Group and stated that without their contribution this achievement wouldn't have been achieved. He said that there are many leaders but the one with a vision makes all the difference and YS Chowdary is gifted with that vision he reasoned.

He praised Dr. MS Swaminathan saying that with all his able efforts the country reached to food surplus. He also said that MS.Swaminathan's Commision on farmer's report implementation would solve the farmer problems in our country. He lauded the efforts of Sujana Foundation in recognizing and celebrating the people who've made a difference to the respective fields. India is gifted with quality human resources and given the situation coupled with skills, youth can make wonders, he opined.

Later Dr.Shantha Sinha spoke about the event and congratulated all the awardees. Sharing this successful time with all the awardees is a moment to cherish she recalled. She applauded Sujana Foundation by taking up such exercises. The event was presided over by Shri Prayaga Ramakrishna, CEO Sujana Foundation where Sujana Group employees, media personnel and others graced the occasion. The event was followed by a comedy show performed by Sri AVS and team.

Sujana Group Silver Jubilee Celebrations

Sujana Group celebrated its concluding ceremony of its 25th anniversary with fever and gaiety on 14, 15 and 16 of September 2012. The yearlong celebrations began in the month of June 2011 and concluded with a three day festival entitled as Sujana Nrutyotsavam, Sujana Sangeetotsavam and Sujana Hasyotsavam organized by Sujana Foundation at Sri Satya Sai Nigamagamam, Hyderabad.

The first day of the festival was organized to felicitate Smt Y. Suseela Kumari and Shri Y. Janardhana Rao parents of Shri YS Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group of Companies and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr.V. Malakonda Reddy, Advisor, CBIT and Executive Secretary, Mediciti Institute of Medical Sciences. Renowned Indian Cricketer Sri VVS Laxman was the guest of honour. The event was presided over by Sri Prayaga Ramakrishna CEO Sujana Foundation. Later film actor and danseuse Shobana and ensemble enthralled the audience by their classical dance performance.

The second day festival witnessed Shri Madhavapeddi Suresh and team's musical orchestra which regaled the audience with some of the chart busters of Tollywood. The third day festival was organized to felicitate the Sujana Excellence Awardees and give away the awards. Fourth lecture of the series of thought-provoking Sujana Lectures unveiled

On June 16, 2012, Sujana Foundation presented the fourth lecture of the Sujana Lecture Series entitled as ‘Responsible Entrepreneurship’ delivered by Dr. Mrityunjay Athreya, Management Consultant and Business strategist at FAPCCI, Hyderabad. Sri S. Hanumantha Rao, Director Sujana Group was the guest of honour where Sri Y.S.Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group of Companies and Sujana Foundation and also Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, presided over the event.

Sri Chowdary in his inaugural speech recalled that entrepreneurs should frame a goal and should stick to it with conviction; money making is a by-product, that’s where the responsible entrepreneur outshines others. He also assured that Sujana Foundation would help the emerging entrepreneurs and assist them in various issues in an organized way.

It was a great combination of experience and exuberance of Sri Athreya which reflected in his eloquent lecture. Addressing the audience he opined that the role of entrepreneurship took a paradigm shift from the License Raj to the liberalized economy. Entrepreneurs should be responsible, by understanding the customers, motivating the employees, looking after the stake holders, becoming society conscious all in all being intrapreneural, he reasoned. The more responsible they are the more success they meet, he observed. The event was graced by entrepreneurs, academicians, management students, media personnel and others.

Sujana Co sponsors CII Andhra Pradesh Cricket Cup 2012

Sujana Co sponsored the fourth edition of Confederation of Indian Industry’s - CII Andhra Pradesh Cricket Cup 2012. The tournament was kick started on 8^th July 2012. Overall, 36 Corporate Teams across Hyderabad, have locked horns in this month long tournament which was played at various turf grounds in and around Hyderabad.

Karvy clinched the cup by defeating Deloitte with an all-round performance in the finals held at Vijay Anand grounds, Rajendar Nagar, Hyderabad. Sri S. Hanumantha Rao, Director, SujanaGroup of Companies gave away the – ‘Man of the Series’ trophy, where as Smt. Deepthi Reddy, Vice President, PE, Sujana Group gave away the trophy of – Best Batsman of the series.

Another feather in Chairman Sri Y.S.Chowdary’s cap

Sri Y. S. Chowdary, Chairman, Sujana Group of Companies and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, was appointed as member of Indo-Singapore parliamentary friendship group. In a step towards strengthening bilateral ties, India and Singapore have formed this group in Parliament comprising MPs from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

The agenda of this Singapore parliamentary friendship group is to establish and strengthen political, economical, social and cultural ties between the two countries.
